| Hi, I'm Karla, and thanks for visiting my web home! One of the most important things "About Me" is that the Lord Jesus Christ is my Savior and He is the reason for everything I do. My "life verse," the one I "hang my hat on," is: "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him." (I Cor 2:9) I certainly couldn't have imagined the twists and turns my life has taken, nor envisioned the places I would go or people I would meet. God has indeed prepared unimaginably wonderful things for me. And this life is just the start!

| In 1996 I found my first autoharp in the passenger seat of our station wagon, a delightful surprise gift from my husband, Mark. Since then, that "wondrous wad of wood and wire" has taken me to some unexpected places--like the winner's circle in autoharp championships, to England presenting workshops and concerts, to Nashville for a special recording project, and to places of special blessing, like the bedside of the dying, sharing songs with kids around the campfire, and visiting the elderly.

| I am not a "paper-trained" musician, and have not had formal lessons on the instruments I play. The Lord has provided not only the instruments, but the ability to play them. In addition to chromatic and diatonic autoharp, I also play the bowed psaltery, the hammered dulcimer, the mountain dulcimer, banjimer, and the lever harp. I've also "fiddled" with the fiddle, ukulele, and zither. You can find out more about some of these fascinating instruments by clicking on "About My Instruments" or on "Recordings" to the left.

| I grew up in Baltimore, Maryland and enjoyed a wonderful career with the Department of Defense upon graduation from high school. I was awarded a scholarship, and graduated from George Washington University with a Bachelor's Degree in Russian Language and Literature. That was all "B.C." (before children!).
I have been married to the love of my life for almost 27 years, and my main occupation these days is homemaking and homeschooling my younger son, Benjamin, age 15. My older son, Aaron just completed his junior year at Bob Jones University and is presently serving as a camp counselor at The Wilds Christian Camp.

| I am an active member of Hope Baptist Church in Hanover, PA, where I teach a Ladies' Sunday School Class, sing in the choir, serve in the Nursery, manage the Prayer Chain, and other duties as needed!
My other hobbies include needlework, crocheting, reading, cooking, travel, shopping (!), and connecting with people. I'd love to hear from you!
